In Loving Memory

Ruth Howell

1935 - 2007

On August 11th, Ruth took her final boat ride, along with family and friends on the "Jubilee."  She was being taken for her eternal dive, to her new address to one our many spots we found together in our many years of diving along the reefs.  She wanted to go to some place pretty, with schools of fish, coral and sea fans that was not on a commercial reef.  She wanted our friends and family in the water for our swim together, to share the experience and, to have one last shared moment in the environment that has provided so much in the way of good times, and good memories for all of us.  The day was a beautiful day, with two foot seas, light current and, most importantly, good visibility so that everyone was able to see and share that dive.  There were alot of tears shed, a beer or two consumed as we all stayed out, no one being in a hurry to leave such a beautiful day, a beautiful experience, sharing our loss, sharing our love.  She is in one of our favorite spots, "Fandance," her new address, N 2504.508/W 08019.053, swimming in the ocean she loved so much.
We all know how much Ruth loved people, and, I know that she was looking down on us that day, smiling and sharing that very special day with all of us.
God Bless you Mija, swim free.
